The shocking news about underground rapper Jayden Yen Dumont, better known as Jaydes or Evvls, has rocked the South Florida music scene. At just 18, the artist is at the center of an attempted murder.
The musician, who gained indie fame through his SoundCloud hits like “Slugs” and “Scam Likely,” is accused of a brutal attack on a woman who allegedly rejected him. Reports claim that after the woman turned down his sexual advances, Jaydes returned with scissors and a box cutter, stabbing her multiple times.
A chilling Instagram account, ExposingJaydes, which appears to have been deleted, shared detailed accounts of the alleged incident, including messages from Jaydes’ ex-girlfriend, who described her terrifying November 2nd ordeal.
“He kissed me, I pushed him off, and then he came back with scissors and a box cutter and started stabbing me,” she reportedly said. The victim escaped to a bathroom and called 911, but Jaydes fled before law enforcement arrived, leaving her with serious injuries to her neck, arm, and back.
As the controversy unfolds, Jaydes’ Instagram, where he had over 100,000 followers, has also mysteriously vanished, leaving fans and critics alike to speculate about his whereabouts until it was announced on Saturday that he’d been captured. His bloody mugshot went viral online, suggesting some type of struggle with law enforcement took place. He has been charged with attempted murder.
Adding fuel to the fire, past allegations against the rapper have resurfaced. In 2023, he was involved in a scandal in Los Angeles, where he allegedly lied about his age to meet underage girls, sparking widespread outrage. Despite the mounting accusations, Jaydes has yet to respond publicly.
