Actor Jamal Trulove, who was wrongfully convicted of a 2010 murder by San Francisco prosecutors under then-District Attorney Kamala Harris, recently spoke his thoughts on why he believes Harris lost the 2024 presidential election.

On Saturday, The Art Of Dialogue released their latest episode, which featured Trulove. In it, he said the election results were “bittersweet” due to his past history with the Vice President. He recounted his experience with the judicial system and Harris’s involvement, which explains his stance on her candidacy.

“It’s a bittersweet win for me,” Trulove began. “I have strong reasons…why I didn’t want to see Kamala in office. If you’re framed for murder, and Kamala or whoever is at the helm of the DA office at the time, they’re all going to be the enemy.”

Looking beyond his personal feelings towards Harris, Trulove highlighted several reasons he felt contributed to her election loss. For starters, he criticized the Democratic Party for not correctly preparing Harris for a national campaign by delaying her active candidacy. Without the extended time, Trulove argued that Harris struggled to gain momentum and connect with voters. Additionally, Trulove mentioned another major factor: Megan Thee Stallion’s performance at one of Harris’s rallies. He believed that Harris’s team missed the mark by bringing the Houston rapper onstage, which he says left a bad taste in voters’ mouths.

“Do you know how that made us look? We loved it, but you turned it into a concert…You literally opened the door for them to classify us as ghetto, unintelligent, and paid for,” Trulove said. The f**k Megan Thee Stallion know about politics? Especially coming from somebody that’s from Texas, which is a red state..people looked at that as pandering, and it made us look bad. A lot of people didn’t like that.”

Nonetheless, this wasn’t the first time Trulove spoke on his experience and feelings about Harris. He previously shared a disturbing story that occurred during his trial.  According to Trulove, Harris laughed at him inside a courtroom while he was fighting for his freedom.

“I’ll never forget. I turned and looked, and I saw Kamala Harris,” Trulove previously said. “We locked eyes this one time, and she laughed. She literally just kind of busted out laughing, almost as if she was pointing at me like ‘hahaha.’”
