Pamela Anderson was one of the biggest stars of the 1990s, thanks to her roles in movies and TV shows, including Baywatch.

Her personal life also made plenty of headlines; the star has been married five times, including to rocker Tommy Lee.

Let’s take a look at her high-profile romances – from Scott Baio to Kelly Slater – her off-on relationships, and who she calls “the love of my life.”

Anderson was born in a small town on Vancouver Island, Canada on July 1, 1967, before moving to Vancouver in 1988, where she worked as a fitness instructor.

The following year, she was at a Canadian football game when an image of her flashed on the big screen. She was wearing a T-shirt with a Labatt beer logo and was subsequently asked to be a spokesmodel for the company.

She became known as the “Blue Zone Girl” after a poster was created by her then boyfriend Dan Ilicic.

Within a year, Playboy came calling and she flew to LA for a photo shoot before landing the cover of the October 1989 issue.

Jon Peters

Anderson was reportedly at the Playboy mansion when she met former hairdresser turned movie producer Jon Peters.

“I walked in and saw this little angel sitting at the bar. It was Pammy. She was like 19. I knew she would be a big star,” he told The Hollywood Reporter in 2017.

“We ended up living together.”

He proposed, but she turned him down due to their 22-year age gap.

The two reunited in 2019, and held a wedding ceremony in January 2020. But less than two weeks later, they announced they were re-evaluating their relationship before Anderson released a statement saying they were “never legally married.”

Scott Baio

Anderson met Scott Baio at another party at the Playboy mansion in 1990. She later said she spurned off the advances of actor Sean Penn in favour of Baio, then a huge star thanks to TV shows such as Happy Days.

She went on to appear in an episode of his show Charles in Charge.

Anderson continued to model while launching her acting career. Her big break came in 1991 when she appeared as Lisa the “Tool Time Girl” on the sitcom Home Improvement.

She was then cast as CJ Parker on the prime time TV show Baywatch.

Anderson and Baio were together three years and reportedly got engaged in the shower before they split up, something Baio blamed on her breast augmentation surgery.

Kelly Slater

Anderson met pro surfer Kelly Slater on the set of Baywatch, where he played Jimmy Slade, and the two began seeing each other.

She talked about their relationship in the Netflix documentary, Pamela, A Love Story.

“I met Kelly Slater on the set of Baywatch. He was my big love actually. He was such a sweetheart to me, and so good to me,” she said.

“Kelly and I were together between lots of boyfriends and lots of girlfriends for him too… it wasn’t just me.

“He definitely was a heartbreaker. I mean he was just a free spirit, you couldn’t get your hands around him.”

The two were still dating and she was due to meet his family after he returned from a photo shoot in Cancun, Mexico, where she married rocker Tommy Lee.

“My first phone call was to [Slater] to tell him I was married,” she revealed in the documentary.

“He was like, ‘What?’ That was horrible.”

Tommy Lee

Anderson met the Motley Crue drummer at a club on New Year’s Eve 1994.

In his autobiography, The Dirt, Lee wrote that a waitress came over with a drink, saying, “It’s for you, from Pamela Anderson.”

“She was wearing all white, her hair was the most perfect shade of blond I had ever seen, her teeth practically glowed through her lips when she laughed, and she stood out so radiantly from everyone around her that it seemed like a beam of black light was shining on her from above.”

Lee went over to introduce himself and sat beside her. “Then I grabbed her face and just licked the side of it, from chin to temple.”

Anderson told People in 2015, “It really was love at first sight.”

Lee got her number and the two talked on the phone for six weeks before Anderson jetted to Cancun, where Lee turned up unannounced.

Three days later he asked her to marry him. They wed the next day, with the groom shirtless and the bride famously wearing a white bikini.

An intimate video filmed on their honeymoon was later stolen and used to make a sex tape. The couple sued, and Anderson later said the tape and lawsuit were factors in the breakdown of their marriage.

Anderson gave birth to their first child, son Brandon, in May 1996. A few months later Anderson filed for divorce before the two reunited.

A second son, Dylan, was born in December 1997.

The following February, police were called to the couple’s home and Lee was charged with felony spousal abuse and child abuse. He was later sentenced to six months’ jail.

Anderson revealed in her 2023 memoir, Love, Pamela, “Tommy ripped Brandon off me and threw me and Dylan into a wall.”

Anderson filed for divorce two days later before they reconciled again.

Their on-off relationship continued for years, despite Anderson moving on, first with Swedish model Marcus Schenkenberg, to whom she became engaged before they split in 2001.

Anderson and Kid Rock first began dating in 2001 and became engaged in 2002 before splitting the following year.

They rekindled their romance in July 2006 after running into each other in St Tropez.

They returned to St Tropez that same month and married aboard a yacht before Anderson filed for divorce just five months later.

Rick Salomon

Anderson married her long-time friend Rick Salomon in Las Vegas in October 2007 but she filed for divorce just two months later.

They reconciled but were granted an annulment in March 2008.

In January 2014, news broke that Anderson and Salomon had remarried. Anderson later told E! News, “We’re very happy. Our families are very happy and that’s all that matters.”

But by July that year, Anderson had again filed for divorce. A messy court case followed.

Tommy Lee – again

In between her marriages to Salomon, Anderson and Lee tried again.

Lee reportedly told Rolling Stone in 2008, “We’ve only given it a try 800 times – 801, here we go. Pamela and the kids have moved in with me. It’s awesome. It’s definitely working.”

They continued to have an on-off relationship for a number of years before finally calling it quits.

Lee eventually moved on with wife Brittany Furlan Lee, whom he married in 2018.

Dan Hayhurst

Anderson married her bodyguard Dan Hayhurst on Christmas Eve 2020 at her Canadian home. She confirmed the news to The Daily Mail in January 2021, saying, “I’m exactly where I need to be – in the arms of a man who truly loves me.”

Just one year later, People reported the two had separated.

‘Love of my life’

In 2015, she told People that Lee was “the love of my life.”

However, their friendship cooled in 2018 after she brought up the 1998 assault during an interview. It also caused bad blood between Anderson and Lee’s new wife.

They have since put it behind them, appearing together in public a number of times.

She told Howard Stern last year she was glad Lee was now happily married.

Today, Anderson is reportedly single and lives in her grandparents’ former farmhouse on Vancouver Island.
