Gayle King is standing by Megan Thee Stallion after the rapper opens up in her Amazon Prime documentary, Megan Thee Stallion: In Her Words, about her 2022 CBS Mornings interview. In the documentary, Megan reflects on denying a past relationship with Tory Lanez—a statement she later admitted in court wasn’t true. This candid revelation has sparked renewed conversation, with King responding thoughtfully to Megan’s reflections.

In Megan Thee Stallion: In Her Words, which debuted last Thursday, Megan gives fans an inside look at her rise to fame and personal hardships, including the loss of her mother and the fallout from the 2020 shooting incident involving Lanez. Reflecting on her interview with King, Megan explains that she wasn’t expecting questions about her intimate relationship with Lanez and felt unprepared to answer truthfully. “Yes, I lied to Gayle King,” Megan admits in the documentary, sharing that the question caught her off guard.

When asked about Megan’s admission by TMZ, King responded with understanding. “I thought it was the first time she was telling her story, and it bothered me that so many people didn’t believe her,” King said. She made it clear that her feelings for Megan haven’t changed, saying, “I’m still nuts about her. I think she’s been through a lot, and I can’t wait to see her documentary. I’m cheering her on.”
