The Golden Bachelorette is almost over, with Joan Vassos having narrowed down the field to her final two contestants: Chock Chapple and Guy Gansert. However, Joan goes into Episode 7 of the season, aka overnight dates, with three suitors. One of them, Pascal Ibgui, however, decided he wasn’t ready for the commitment of possibly being the last man standing, and left the show of his own volition.

“I need[ed] to end it because I felt like there … were two guys [who were] very much in love, so I felt like it was not fair to me to stay knowing that I cannot really give her what she’s looking for,” Ibgui told The Wrap. “That’s when I decided to leave.”

Igbu’s past has clearly affected the way he approached his relationship with Vassos, as well as his decision to remove himself from the competition now. “She’s a beautiful woman, she’s kind, she’s sweet, she’s smart [but] something was missing for me,” Ibgui also said about Vassos, the Golden Bachelorette. But what about Ibgui’s past led him here? What do we know about his past relationships and who is Pascual Ibgui’s ex-wife?

Who’s Pascal Ibgui’s ex-wife from The Golden Bachelorette?

Pascual Ibgui’s relationships before the show have remained mostly private, though some are a matter of record, including his ex-wife, Tracy Ibgui. That relationship lasted from their marriage in August 2001 to their divorce, which was finalized in May 2012. Tracy is a nurse and 18 years younger than Ibgui.

The two have two children together, Maxim and Sara. The existence of the kids is the reason why we have more information about Ibgui since he and his ex-wife entered into a very detailed Marital Settlement Agreement and Joint Parenting Agreement after Tracy filed for divorce, citing irreconcilable differences.

In the agreement Tracy was granted residential custody of the children, meaning they would live with her. She likewise was granted the marital residence, though she had to pay the mortgage until the property was sold. Both parties likewise agreed not to introduce the children to any new partners, or have any overnight dates while the children were present until those relationships had lasted at least 6 months. We can only imagine how they would have navigated a potential engagement with Joan Vassos, considering the timeline there. Ibgui was also ordered to pay Tracy $2,000 per month in alimony and $4,500 in child support, plus additional fees.

Three years later, in 2015, an updated order was filed because Ibgui’s son Maxim was now living with his father to attend a school near him. During that school year, Ibgui had temporary primary custody of his son. In 2021 Maxim graduated from high school and is now attending Indiana University.

Ibgui’s son made an appearance during The Golden Bachelorette premiere, in a pre-taped video. “Dad, I just want to say how thrilled I am for you to have been given this once-in-a-lifetime experience. Joan I can’t wait to meet you when my dad brings you back,” Maxim said in a video. “One more thing. I promise I won’t have any parties at the house this Saturday at 10 p.m. I love you, Dad. Kill it.” Later, during Ibgui’s hometown date with Vassos, he assured Joan that his dad was ready to settle down. “One hundred percent,” said Maxim. “He’s so sick of dating.”

Youngest daughter Sara graduated from high school in May 2024, and now attends Loyola University Chicago.

Ibgui also has another daughter, Natalie, 32, from a previous relationship with a woman named Carla. It is unknown if Ibgui and Carla were ever married, but Natalie, who lives in Canada, has a son named Pryce. Ibgui’s grandson stole the show during hometowns, asking his grandfather, “Did you sleep in a bedroom just full of old, other grandpas?” and questioning Joan about whether she’d kissed Ibgui.

The answer to that was yes. But that, however, wasn’t enough.
