It’s time…for the end. Venom: The Last Dance features a monumental ending for Eddie Brock and his symbiote buddy Venom.

The anti-hero duo is being chased down by Xenophrages throughout the whole movie. Venom alerts Eddie that they were dispatched by Knull to find The Codex, which has bonded to the duo since Eddie inherited Venom in the first movie. The Codex will let Knull be free to wreak havoc on the earth. Xenophages could only track them down if Venom was in his full form.

During the big climax, Venom and Eddie are outnumbered by the Xenophrages sheer strength and the symbiote suggests that they would have to break The Codex, and the famed symbiote sacrifices himself when Strickland activates the acid base.

Is Venom really dead in Venom 3?

Unfortunately, our beloved symbiote is definitely dead in Eddie Brock’s universe and we won’t see their partnership again. Eddie visits the Statue of Liberty in honor of his fallen buddy and it’s a simple yet poignant closure.

However, pieces of Venom could exist in the multiverse. At the end of Spider-Man: No Way Home, a piece of Venom’s symbiote crawls on the floor in the Marvel Cinematic Universe and there’s still a bit of his symbiote collected by Rex Strickland in his home universe.

Will there be a Venom 4?

Venom: The Last Dance is the last in the Venom trilogy. Tom Hardy looked back his time playing the anti-hero and confirmed that the movie is the last in the trilogy, but he still wants to fight Tom Holland. “I want to fight Spider-Man. I want to fight Spider-Man right now. I’m well up for it…. Never say never,” the actor said at New York Comic Con as reported by IGN.

Venom: The Last Dance director and co-writer Kelly Marcel told IGN that even though Knull just debuted in this movie, he’s going to have major appearances in the future. “We were always aware of Knull, but knew that we needed to lay the foundation of the Venom character, and his relationship with Eddie, before introducing him. This is just the beginning for Knull,” Marcel told the gaming site. “We’re in spoiler territory now and we hope some of the fun of watching this movie is not knowing what will happen, but trust me, we know full well how important Knull is to the fans, so just as we laid a foundation for Venom, we hope we are doing the same for Knull,” she said. “The King in Black is way too powerful for ‘one and done.’”
