The air is getting chillier, and you know what that means? We’re getting closer to Spotify Wrapped season! The feature is one of social media’s most anticipated days of the year with millions of users sharing their top songs and artists of the year.

Spotify compiles the most listened-to songs, top artists, genres, and podcasts that a listener listens to that year. The feature has evolved immensely over the years with some real life activations expanding to everyday life ads and billboards. “I think what’s become really wonderful about our Wrapped celebration for the global top artist in particular is that it’s given us permission to really deliver special experiences for fans,” Global Head of Marketing Experience, Louisa Ferguson says.

When is Spotify Wrapped 2024 coming out?

Spotify has not announced when Spotify Wrapped will be released for 2024. However, many users have reported that they got a notification on the home screen of their app reading, “2024 is almost a wrap. Don’t miss your chance to discover your top artists & songs this year. Update the app to get wrapped-ready.”

2023’s Spotify Wrapped was released on November 29, 2023. It seems like a pattern each year that it’ll be released after Thanksgiving, with 2022 and 2021 having the same time frame.

When does Spotify stop tracking?

Contrary to popular belief, Spotify doesn’t stop tracking music for Spotify Wrapped on Halloween aka October 31. The official Spotify account tweeted in response to a now-deleted PopBase post, “Hmm, that doesn’t sound right to us. Don’t worry, Wrapped is still counting past Oct. 31.” Your Christmas listening won’t be counted, but your post-spooky vibes playlist will. As for when Spotify starts counting for wrapped, it’s the first day in the New Year, January 1.

What does your Spotify Wrapped show you?

Spotify Wrapped shows you so many of y of the year. Spotify Wrapped usually includes:

  1. Your top artists
  2. Your top songs
  3. Your top genres and the amount of genres you listened to
  4. The amount of time you’ve spent listening to music on Spotify
  5. The number of new artists you’ve discovered
  6. The number of countries your music has been played in

In the past years, Spotify also included fun features like your Audio Aura and what top percentage of listeners you are for an artist. For 2023, your listening habits were categorized into different cards and it reveals a listening character specific to your tastes and habits on Spotify. Top fans of a music artist can also receive a special video message thanking them for listening to their music.
