A UPS driver is being investigated after a Davis, California resident caught him placing political signs supporting former President Donald Trump‘s 2024 campaign on her property while on the job.

The incident occurred last Thursday, and Shelly Bailes’ home surveillance cameras recorded the driver leaving nearly a dozen small Trump flags on her lawn—without delivering any packages to her home.

“He was not delivering a package to my house,” Bailes explained. “I saw that he put something on my lawn.”

Surprised and upset, Bailes reviewed the footage, which showed the driver dropping off packages across the street and then returning to place the flags on her property before driving away.

“He really has no right. He’s trespassing on my lawn,” Bailes said.

UPS quickly responded to the incident, emphasizing that while employees have the right to support any political candidate, they must do so on their own time. In a statement to KCRA 3, the company said, “We respect the right of all Americans to support their chosen candidate, however, we ask our employees to express their political views on their own time.”

The company is currently investigating the matter, and Bailes hopes this serves as a reminder for mutual respect, especially as the election season heats up. “I have no idea why he did it,” Bailes said. “I can’t imagine what he thought he’d gain by these little signs.”
