La Barbecue is no stranger to celebrity fans. While in town for SXSW, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle even dined there. When Halle Berry came to town for Fantastic Fest, she also enjoyed some BBQ at the fan favorite.

Here’s what Halle Berry had to say about Austin on the Fantastic Fest red carpet!

This was her first time in Austin and though she noted how hot it is, she said, “It’s amazing to be here, though. I’ve been a fan of the festival. A lot of good things have come out of this festival.”

She then told us that she was able to get some barbecue that morning at La Barbecue, which she called, “amazing.”

The Oscar winner was at the festival to screen her new film Never Let Go, now in theaters. The psychological thriller/horror focuses on an evil that takes over the world and the only protection for a mother (Berry), and her twin sons is their house and their family’s protective bond. Needing to stay connected at all times – even tethering themselves with ropes – they cling to one another, urging each other to never let go. But when one of the boys questions if the evil is real, the ties that bind them together are severed, triggering a terrifying fight for survival.

Of course, we couldn’t let her leave without asking at least one Texas This or That question. Who’s more Texan: Matthew McConaughey or Woody Harrelson? After asking, “Aren’t they both?” we clarified, saying, who’s more of the epitome of Texas.

“I would have to say Matthew McConaughey,” she said.
