Navigating the tumultuous waters of adolescence can be a daunting challenge, especially for parents of teenage daughters. Nick Cannon recently opened up about his own parenting journey of a teenage daughter, saying that is a “horrifying” experience.

On a recent episode of The Talk, the 44-year-old father opened up about raising his two eldest children, 13-year-old twins, son Moroccan and daughter Monroe. The Masked Singer host said that he could “handle” his son, but that raising Monroe is “horrifying.”

“I can actually handle my son because he is so much like me,” he shares, “But my daughter, she’s like, wearing make-up and taking two hours in the bathroom. Like what are you doing in there!”

“It’s scary,” the proud father-of-12 said, “because I’m just watching her evolve into this young woman and, I mean, I can’t stop it.” He continues in his interview, stating that Monroe, like most teenage girls, has a love of make-up. The multi-hyphenated entertainer said that his daughter’s favorite place to spend time with friends is Sephora.

“She lives at Sephora! Why are you putting that stuff on? Do you have another face I don’t know about?” Cannon jokes. He added that while Monroe and her friends are shopping, he patiently stands by the front of the store and waits.

“I’m standing at the front of Sephora, and I’ve been in there for over an hour, I’d say [it takes longer when] she goes with her friends.” Then the Wild ‘N Out host comedically compares the store to a maze. “There’s like a maze in the line, and I don’t know how the store works at all.”

Cannon shares his Moroccan and Monroe with ex-wife, Mariah Carey. In addition to the twins, Cannon is also father to ten additional children.

Cannon’s other include: sons Golden Sagon and Rise Messiah Cannon and daughter Powerful Queen whom he shares with Brittany Bell; twins Zion Mixolydian and Zillion Heir and daughter Beautiful Zeppelin with Abby De La Rosa; son Legendary Love with Bre Tiesi; and daughter Onyx Ice Cole with LaNisha Cole. Cannon also father two children with Alyssa Scott — son Zen, who died at five-months-old in December 2021 from brain cancer, and daughter Halo Marie Cannon, who was born in December of 2022.
