Actress Anna Kendrick has spoken about her decision to not have children.
The American star, 39, known for her work in films such as the Twilight and Pitch Perfect franchises, said she’s happily a “childless cat lady” when talking to The Flow Space in a new interview.
Kendrick told the publication she thinks the load of parenthood falls mostly on the backs of mothers and it’s one reason why she doesn’t want to go down that path.

“I was thinking recently about a phrase I’ve heard men say about their desire to have children in the future, and it occurred to me: I don’t think I’ve ever heard a woman say that,” she said.
“And the thing they’ll say is, ‘Yeah, maybe one day – a couple of kids running around.'”
The star said it paints the idea “that you come home at the end of your workday, and you put down your proverbial briefcase, and you’re making yourself a cocktail, and a woman in a Laura Ashley dress is out in the yard, and there’s a couple of kids – in white! – running around. Um, where are you in that, sir?”

She said the comments “rub me the wrong way”.
Previously, Kendrick revealed she made embryos with a now-ex who was “for all intents and purposes my husband”.
“We had embryos together, this was my person,” Kendrick said on the Armchair Expert podcast at the time.
But she said that soon things took a turn for the worst and she felt like she was “living with a stranger”.
