Congratulations are in order for Good Morning America host Michael Strahan, who is officially a grandfather!

During a recent Fox NFL Sunday broadcast, Strahan revealed that his daughter Tanita Strahan has welcomed her first child, a son named Onyx.

Analyst Howie Long helped Strahan break the news during the broadcast telling Strahan, “Congrats, grandpa.”

Strahan responded, “Yes, I’m a grandfather, everybody. My daughter Tanita and my grandson Onyx, is his name. That means black.”

With the other anchors at the table also being grandfathers, Strahan added, “I know you guys have gone through this. I’m happy to be able to welcome in that club.”

Strahan shares Tanita, 32, and son Michael Strahan Jr., 31 with ex-wife Wanda Hutchins. He also shares 19-year-old twins Isabella Strahan and Sophia Strahan with his ex-wife Jean Muggli.

Back in 2013, Strahan told New York Family in an interview that his oldest child is “kind of” like him in many ways.

“She’s kind of like me in the sense that she has a very strong personality, but a silent strong personality,” he told New York Family in his interview. “She’s not going to be one to walk into a room and make it all about her. She definitely has an opinion and she’s very smart and she knows what she wants, which I love about her.”

Tanita and Michael Jr. grew up in Germany after their parents divorce in 1996. Yet, despite the distance, it was important for Strahan to be an active part of their life.

“But from day one, it was very important for me to be active, to be a part of their life,” Michael recalled in a previous interview with People Magazine in 2016. “I was constantly on planes and phones. And it’s very hard…But one thing I learned is, you make time for what you want to make time for.”
