Olivia Munn has shared the sweet way her husband John Mulaney supported her decision to have another child amid her breast cancer battle.
The actress surprised fans when she announced the birth of her and Mulaney’s second child, daughter Méi via surrogate last month.
Munn recently opened up on the ‘Be Your Own Best Advocate’ panel at Hello Sunshine’s Shine Away event about wanting to try for a daughter after freezing her eggs.
“I told John, ‘I won’t feel good until we get two more [embryos that are girls] so I need you to just be on my side and let me go through this,” she said as per US Weekly.
“And I know I’m putting myself at risk, but I just have to do this’.”
“And he said, ‘I’ll support whatever you want to do,'” Munn recalled Mulaney told her.

“We got home that day and the doctor said, ‘I got the results back, and it’s the dream. You have two healthy baby girl embryos.’ And now we have Méi.”
The couple announced they welcomed daughter Méi June Mulaney via surrogate in a surprise post on September 23.

“I had so many profound emotions about not being able to carry my daughter,” Munn wrote candidly.
The New Girl star gave birth to her first child, son Malcolm with Mulaney in 2021.
Munn told Vogue earlier this year she had a full hysterectomy and decided to freeze her eggs at aged 42 after her breast cancer diagnosis.
Munn said her and Mulaney decided to try another round of egg retrievals.

“John and I talked about it a lot and we don’t feel like we’re done growing our family, but didn’t know if I would have to do chemotherapy or radiation,” she told the outlet in May.
Munn and Mulaney have been together since 2021.
After reports they had a secret wedding in July, Mulaney confirmed during a talk show appearance in August they tied the knot.
