Shannon Beador reacts to Joel Kim Booster’s bashing her as Jeff Lewis confirms the RHOC star wasn’t in a “great place” before filming Love Hotel.
Real Housewives of Orange County star Shannon Beador reacted to host Joel Kim Booster’s claim that she was a “terror” and a “pathetic drunk” who treated people horribly while filming season one of Peacock’s Love Hotel.
Over the weekend, Love Hotel host Joel Kim Booster called out the 60-year-old RHOC star for being a “pathetic drunk” in a since-deleted Instagram Story. He also described her treatment of others as “hideous” and claimed she was a “terror” on set.
“He just went on live and COOKED Shannon Beador,” someone shared in a series of DMs – posted on Instagram by Queens of Bravo. “Like he roasted her, chopped her up, and served her for breakfast … Said she has been a TERROR for the entire three weeks, humiliates the crew, was hideous to him and that at the wrap party just a few hours ago she was terrible to someone he really loves … And he got in her face and said like ‘you think you’re a star? People don’t like you, they pity you’ … And then he just said — the daughters are just as bad.”
Joel allegedly wrote in his post, “Just because you’re a pathetic drunk on a reality television show best known for a string of failed relationships and a DUI does not give you license to treat the people you work with like they are subhuman. Period.”
During a Shannon and Vicki LIVE! show, Shannon Beador shared her reaction to Joel’s Instagram post.
“I really don’t know what it’s about,” the RHOC star said in a clip from the show shared on Instagram. “Because an hour earlier that night, before the wrap party, he had tears in his eyes, and he said, ‘I’m so happy for you.’”
She then addressed Joe’s shocking claims against her.
“He trashed my daughters. He said that he hopes that I suffer,” she explained. “He said that he feels sorry for John Janssen. He says that I’m nothing but a pathetic drunk … It’s really gonna look silly for him because he had nothing but love for me the entire show.”
Gretchen Rossi, who appeared on stage with Vicki Gunvalson and Shannon during their live show alongside RHOC alum Lizzie Rosvek, defended Shannon by calling Joel’s behavior “so unprofessional.”
“What I’m sad about is that I did actually some kind things on the show,” Shannon said. “And people said I was kind, so it’s hard for me to walk away from an experience that I really enjoyed … to have that damper on it. But we’ll see what happens … I don’t know where it came from.”
Meanwhile, the RHOC star’s BFF, Jeff Lewis, admits he believes Joel’s claim that Shannon Beador was a “terror” while filming Love Hotel could be true. He was “concerned” about her before she left for filming, as she wasn’t in a “great place.”
“I spoke to her either the night, either the night or two nights before she was leaving for Mexico, and I didn’t think she was in a great place, and I was concerned,” Jeff Lewis admitted on SiriusXM Radio’s Jeff Lewis Extended.
Jeff Lewis says he spoke to Shannon Beador the night before she left to film ‘Love Hotel’ where she is accused of treating some crew members like they are “sub-human”. While the former Flipping Out star has no insider knowledge of what went down between Shannon and the Love Hotel cast and crew, he believes stress may have caused the RHOC star to act out.
“I think it’s possible that — and I can only speak for myself — sometimes if I’m dealing with a lot of stress or I’m maybe emotionally not totally, 100 percent stable, you may act out. You may take out your stress, aggression, anxiety, on other people,” he theorized. “I think it’s possible that this could’ve happened. I do. I just felt like she was not in a great state when I spoke to her.”
“She’s going through a rough time. She could be not responding well,” Jeff added.
In July, Peacock announced their plans to launch a Real Housewives dating show starring Luann de Lesseps (RHONY), Shannon Beador (RHOC), and RHOP O.G.’s Gizelle Bryant and Ashley Darby. The new reality TV dating series will “gather eligible singles in a quest to win the hearts of four of Bravo’s biggest bachelorettes.”
The series filmed its first season in Cabo San Lucas earlier this month and is expected to premiere in late 2024 or early 2025.
The Real Housewives of Orange County airs on Bravo Thursdays at 9 p.m. ET.
