Appearing on the Khloe in Wonderland podcast with Khloe Kardashian, Parton said when it comes to finishing the songs she has started writing, she “just can’t do it right now”.
“I got so many other things that I can’t afford the luxury of, you know, of getting emotional right now,” she said.

Following Dean’s death, Parton released a song in his honour titled If You Hadn’t Been There.
She announced the release on Instagram, sharing an image of her with her arms wrapped around Dean.
“I fell in love with Carl Dean when I was 18 years old,” she captioned the post.
“We have spent 60 precious and meaningful years together. Like all great love stories, they never end.
“They live on in memory and song. He will always be the star of my life story, and I dedicate this song to him.”
Parton said that her husband’s death has definitely “stalled” her a little bit she would happily write “something else though if it comes”.
