‘Beyond gutted’: Mel B’s Spice Girls bandmates speak out after missing her wedding – but one remains silent

Only one of Mel B’s Spice Girls bandmates – Emma Bunton – was able to attend the singer’s star-studded wedding on July 5.

But despite their absence, both Mel C and Victoria Beckham sent public well-wishes to the star, 50, as she tied the knot to hairstylist Rory McPhee, 37, in London.

Geri Halliwell, 52, remains the only member not to have addressed the wedding publicly.

Victoria, 51 – who couldn’t make the nuptials due to being overseas – shared a photo of the couple and wrote: “Congratulations @officalmelb @rorymcphee on your special day!

“I couldn’t be more excited for you both and wish you a lifetime of happiness! kisses xx.”

Mel C, 51, said she was “gutted” to miss the ceremony in her own tribute post. She couldn’t attend as she was performing at a music festival in Stockholm, Sweden.

“So so happy for you both and beyond gutted I couldn’t be there. Excited to celebrate with you really soon! Yippee!” she said.

Emma Bunton, 49, was all smiles as she attended the wedding at St Paul’s Cathedral accompanied by her partner, Jade Jones, and son, Beau.

It’s not known why Geri didn’t attend the big day, but she was spotted out at the F1 British Grand Prix on Sunday after her no-show to the event.

Mel B tied the knot in front of friends and family on Saturday, marking the occasion on Instagram with a loving snap of the newlyweds looking at each other outside the venue, simply captioned with the date.

The mother-of-three donned a stunning custom ivory gown designed by London-based Evelie Bridal and Josephine Scott.

The team worked together to create a figure-hugging georgette crepe gown with a sweetheart neckline and a corset bodice, which draped and flowed into a dramatic train.

She was supported on the day by her three daughters – Pheonix Chi, 26, who she shares with ex-husband Jimmy Gulzar, Angel Iris, 18, with ex-boyfriend Eddie Murphy and Madison, 13, with ex-husband Stephen Belafonte – who served as her bridesmaids.

The star-studded ceremony was also attended by the likes of models Cara Delevingne and Daisy Lowe, comedian Katherine Ryan, TV presenter Angelica Bell, and more.

Mel B met her now-husband years before they got together officially in 2018.

McPhee, being a specialist in curly hair, worked closely with Mel after she cut off her curls following her previous relationship.

She told US Weekly that the stylist was “nurturing” her hair while doing the same to her “belief in love again and trust”.

The couple will be having a second ceremony in Morocco later this month, which she told the Mirror, “will be more informal, sexy and beautiful.”
