Robert Irwin has accidentally committed a crime.
Yep, you read that right: Australia’s golden boy has walked right out of a restaurant with his takeaway order in hand, without ever paying for his food – criminal, right?
If you’re sitting there disappointed, thinking, ‘I thought Steve and Terri raised him better than this!’ fear not, the young Wildlife Warrior has done everything in his power to make amends.

Irwin posted a TikTok from his car on Sunday evening, explaining that during his road trip down Australia’s East Coast, he stopped off at Coffs Harbour for a night and decided to order some food from The Jetty Pavilion for dinner.
“[I] ordered a takeaway salad and went in, little did I know this place is the place to be in Coffs Harbour, it was packed” he says.
“I went in there and there was a lot of people that saw me and said g’day and wanted to have a photo and all that, which is all good, but it turned into a bit of a frenzy, it was a little bit of a flurry there for a minute.”
Irwin said the team prepared his food for him as quick as possible as he made sure to say hi to everyone at the venue before picking up his salad and heading off.
“The next morning, I wake up and realise I never paid for my salad,” he exclaimed.
”I just did the old dine and dash and I didn’t even realise I’d done it, I felt terrible.”
So, in an attempt to make amends after having already left Coffs Harbour, Irwin called the venue and offered to pay over the phone or bank transfer, but the owners told him not to worry about it and asked him to instead “leave a good review”.
“Guys, Jetty Pavillion, I’m gonna do you one better,” he said, sharing a video raving about the venue to his eight million followers.

”I apologise again, I know you guys were all like, ‘It’s all good’, but I am gonna be coming back up through Coffs Harbour and I am going to be giving you, in person, the money for that salad, because today is not the day I start my life of crime.”
The owners of The Jetty Pavilion, Kyle Miller and Ben Hemsworth, have now broken their silence on the matter, appearing on Today to share their thoughts on the situation.
”I think they got a little star-struck,” Hemsworth said of the workers who served Irwin.
“Unfortunately sometimes that’s part of hospitality,” Miller added.
“But also I think it’s not very common for us to get a world celebrity through the doors so we can’t blame the girls for that one, I guess he’s a good-lookin’ fella.”
They said when Irwin called the next day, they insisted he not pay and instead asked him to leave a review, expecting to see “Jetty Pavilion has great salad” on Google reviews.

“I got a message from my daughter saying, ‘Oh my god, I saw the video’, and I’m like, ‘What video?'” Hemsworth said.
“Then my phone just lit up and it was going a bit crazy. It was fantastic, we’re really grateful.
“Robert is such a genuine, authentic guy, It was just lovely to see someone whose the real deal.”
