Selena Gomez might be a billionaire, but that doesn’t mean she isn’t staying down to earth. 

The singer, actress and founder of Rare Beauty, 32, dazzled at the premiere of her latest film, Emilia Pérez, at the New York Film Festival, where she was asked about her latest milestone. 

Speaking with Entertainment Tonight, Gomez discussed the Bloomberg Billionaires Index that revealed she was worth a whopping $US1.3 billion (approx. $1.94 billion).

“I’m very grateful,” the Only Murders in the Building star shared on the red carpet, before thanking fans for supporting her cosmetics company. 

“I personally think it’s distasteful to talk about money, but I really am giving all the credit to people who buy the products.”

“They’re the ones that made this dream of mine come true, so I’m really, really honoured and just happy.”

One of the youngest self-made billionaires in the United States, the star has generated her wealth via her music, acting, brand partnerships and Rare Beauty.

As her wealth grows, the singer recently revealed her plans to pursue mental health advocacy full-time at a mental health summit for her brand.

“I think moments like this [summit] make me very hopeful, but I don’t think I’ll ever stop doing this,” the singer said when talking about the future of mental heath discussion.

“I’m obviously not a political figure or anything, but I would do as much as I possibly could eventually.

“I probably would stop work and devote most of my time to this.”

The actress, who has both bipolar disorder and lupus diagnoses, has been very transparent with her fans in the past about her struggle with anxiety and depression.

As part of Rare Beauty, the singer has also founded the Rare Impact Fund to help raise awareness for mental health.
