Sir David Beckham has continued a cherished family tradition at this year’s Wimbledon tournament.
Off the back of his recent hospitalisation, the former footballer, 50, has spent a day out at the Wimbledon Tennis Championships at the All England Lawn Tennis and Croquet Club with his mum Sandra Beckham, 76.
“Tradition with Mum, day one of Wimbledon. Nothing better,” Beckham captioned an Instagram post he made about the day.

The mother and son duo coordinated in matching cream blazers for the glamorous day out.
They were spotted in the stands chatting with former English football manager Sir Gareth Southgate.
Both David and Southgate were recently awarded knighthoods from King Charles III as a part of his King’s Birthday Honours list.

Peering out from under his sleeve, David’s hand could be seen wrapped in a bandage.
David’s wife, Lady Victoria Beckham, posted some snapshots to her Instagram last week revealing his recent hospital trip.
One photo showed David lying in a hospital bed with his arm in a blue sling, another showed him recovering at home.
“Get well soon Daddy,” Victoria captioned the post.
It is believed the hospital trip was for a wrist surgery to repair issues relating to a soccer injury he had years ago.

But it seems recovery is going well with David’s high spirited appearance at Wimbledon with his mum – a tradition the British icon makes an effort to keep up.
David and his mum have been spotted in the stands together at several Wimbledon events over the years.
Last year, they laughed along together as they sat in the stands at Wimbledon Day 1.
In 2023, they made an appearance together for day three of the British tennis event and in 2022 they showed up together for day 10 of the championships.
The pair have kept the tradition up for over a decade, only missing a few tournaments including, of course, the 2020 tournament which was cancelled due to COVID-19.
Their outing together comes only days after Sandra celebrated her 76th birthday.

It also comes amid an ongoing rumoured rift between David, Victoria and their eldest son Brooklyn Beckham.
Fuel was added to speculation of the reported feud when Brooklyn shared a tribute for Sandra’s birthday despite skipping his dad’s 50th birthday celebrations in May.
Reports of a feud within the Beckham family have been gaining momentum over the past few months.
Fuelling them is the fact no-one in the family has denied the rift, which reportedly began after Nicola chose to wear a Valentino design for her wedding dress instead of one by her now mother-in-law Victoria Beckham.
Both camps have remained silent on the matter, doing nothing to confirm or deny the rumour.
