Michael Jackson’s daughter, Paris Jackson, has responded to critics of her plans to perform a concert on the anniversary of her father’s death.
“People are mad again,” Paris began in a video posted to her Instagram Stories, per Page Six.
Paris is scheduled to perform on 25 June as a support act for the band Incubus in Bridgestone, Nashville. That date also happens to mark the 16th anniversary of her pop superstar dad’s death.

“One of the tour dates I’m supposed to be going out on tour with Incubus and Manchester Orchestra happens to be June 25, which is a very negative anniversary for me in my life and my family,” Paris continued, Page Six reports.
Paris continued to explain that she had been given no control over the scheduled dates as she was a support act.
“So, what I guess I have to explain to these people is that when you’re first of three, and you’re not headlining these shows, you don’t pick what date you perform or what time you go on stage to perform, or what city you perform in,” she said.
She explained that instead those decisions were made by the “big boss” headliner.

As a support act, Paris added that she won’t be receiving any special treatment.
“First of three also doesn’t get a tour bus. You get maybe a sprinter van, which I’ve done before when I’ve got a band with me. But I’m not going to have my band with me this time,” she said.
“It’s just me and my acoustic guitar and my sound guy, who happens to be my fiancé (musician Justin Long.) So we’re gonna be in a soccer mum van.”
Having pitched herself as an opening act for the band’s tour, Paris added that she wouldn’t “make a big fuss” about the dates.

“This feels like [Incubus is] doing me a favor by bringing me out on tour,” she said.
“So [what], I’m gonna tell ’em, ‘Sorry, guys, we can’t perform on this date?'” she continued before sarcastically telling her critics, “F–k you.”
Paris is one of the opening acts, alongside Manchester Orchestra, on Incubus’ Morning View + The Hits tour in the US and the UK.
Michael Jackson died on 25 June 2009 after suffering a heart attack caused by a drug overdose. He was 50.
