Mumford & Sons fans have been left confused after lead singer Marcus Mumford abruptly stormed off stage mid-song during a show in Oregon, USA.

Mumford himself has not commented on the incident at the time of publishing, so it is unclear exactly what prompted the outburst.

However, several TikTok users in the comments who claim to have been present for the performance have attempted to shed some light on the situation.

”About 3 people passed out in a row. In the same song,” one user explained.

“So he stopped so they could get help.”

One person claims to have been informed by a nurse toward the front of the crowd that it was “a fight in the crowd that caused him to finally walk off,” while another person who claims to have been there said they “still aren’t sure” exactly what happened.

The majority of comments seem to allude to a series of medical mishaps toward the front of the crowd, allegedly caused by excess drinking, as well as “a lot of pointing at people who were ‘hurt’ only to be fine”.

It appears Mumford did return to the stage after “a real quick pause in the show”, however he did not finish playing the song that was interrupted.

One person claims that despite the interference, it was still “one of the best shows I’ve ever seen”, whereas others say the vibe of the rest of the performance was a little bit off.

“Yeah. That was weird,” wrote one person in the comments.

“The whole vibe changed when they came back [on] stage”.
