As millions in parts of the world celebrate, social media has been flooded with heartfelt Mother’s Day posts.
Among them have been plenty of posts from celebrities who are honouring their own mums and motherly figures or celebrating their roles as mothers.

From new mums celebrating their first mother’s day to those missing their mums who have passed, read on to see how the stars have honoured motherhood.
Gisele Bündchen
After welcoming her third baby in February, supermodel Gisele Bündchen shared the first photo of her baby boy to Instagram in honour of Mother’s Day.
In the photo, Bündchen nurses her baby boy who wears a onesie with, “I ‘heart’ mom” written across the back.
“I’ve been quiet over here but very busy living life… Sometimes, the most beautiful moments aren’t shared – they’re simply lived,” Bündchen wrote alluding to how private she has been about her newborn.

She continued to reflect on her thoughts about motherhood.
“Lately, I’ve been embracing the slower rhythms, the real connections, the beauty in the lessons that come with being present.
“Today, on Mother’s Day, I specially miss my mom, but my heart is full. Being a mother it’s been my greatest gift, a journey that humbles me, teaches me, and fills me with gratitude every single day.

Hailey Bieber
Hailey Bieber celebrated her first-ever Mother’s Day after welcoming son Jack Blues Bieber with her husband Justin last August.

To honour the day, the model and businesswoman shared some rare photos with her little boy to Instagram.
“I love being your mommy Jack,” she captioned the post.
“Happy Mothers Day.”
Lily Collins
Emily in Paris star Lilly Collins has also celebrated her first Mother’s Day since welcoming her baby girl Tove Jane McDowell via surrogate early this year.
The actress shared a sweet photo with her daughter to Instagram in honour of Mother’s Day.
“My first Mother’s Day. No words can describe this new journey, this new life. I love you with all of my heart Tove, with all of the parts of it that have grown deeper since the day you were born and all of those I never even knew existed,” she wrote.

Nicole Kidman
Nicole Kidman has celebrated a bittersweet Mother’s Day as its her first without her mum.
The actress’ mum Janelle Ann Kidman passed away last September. In the wake of her mother’s death, Kidman revealed, “my heart is broken”. Eight months on the grief undoubtedly remains strong.

To honour her mum, Kidman posted a throwback photo of herself, two of her daughters – Sunday and Faith – and her late mum.
“My mother and my daughters in Uluru, beautiful memories…always 💕 Happy Mother’s Day,” she captioned the post.
Kidman’s friend and colleague Reese Witherspoon shared her support in the comment section, writing, “I love you”.

Over on her own Instagram, Witherspoon reflected on how “lucky” she feels to have her three children – Ava, Deacon and Tennesse – in her life.
“Living each day with honesty, openness, vulnerability, and humor. Sharing it all. It’s the journey of four very different souls intertwined in the most connected way,” she wrote alongside some photos of her kids.
“Each one of these kids has made me a better person by sharing their unique gifts and their open hearts with mine. Motherhood has been such a gift to me.”

Kristen Bell received an unconventional gift for her Mother’s Day present this year.
The actress who shares two daughters with husband Dax Shepard shared a photo of the Mother’s Day card she received this year dubbing it the “best card anyone has ever given or gotten”.
Across the front of the card which appeared to be handmade by her daughters were the words, “Happy Father’s Day mom”.

It got even better when on she opened the card to reveal that it read “Happy mothers day you creative and considerate b—h.”
Bell clearly had a laugh when she opened her Mother’s Day gifts this year.

Kate Hudson, who has three children of her own, shared a heartfelt tribute to her mum Goldie Hawn.

Jamie Lee Curtis honoured her late mum Janet Leigh with a heartfelt Mother’s Day post sharing that what she remembers most about her mum is her “innocence and beauty”.
“I think she was the most beautiful human I ever saw,” she wrote alongside a throwback photo of herself and her mum.

She then went on to post a photo with her onscreen daughter Lindsay Lohan from their film Freaky Friday. The pair are currently filming for the movie sequel Freakier Friday which is set to be released later this year.
Curtis also has two real life children – Ruby and Annie Guest – who she shares with husband Christopher Guest.

Aussie actress Rebel Wilson celebrated Mother’s Day with her wife Ramona Agruma and their two-year-old Royce Lillian.
