Katy Perry has delivered a pointed message for her critics during a concert in the US.
Over the last few weeks, the pop star has faced criticism over her dancing skills in clips circulating all over social media from her Lifetimes Tour.
Now the star has hit back on stage – with nine words and a telling act.

“Show them this when they say I can’t dance!” the singer said mid-performance in Houston on May 7, as per a fan-captured video on X (formerly Twitter)
The star was performing her iconic 2011 track, Last Friday Night (T.G.I.F.) for her first show on the North American leg of her global tour.
Perry then proceeded to dance, doing everything from star jumps to turning around and lifting her costume to the audience.
It’s not the only criticism the singer has faced recently. Perry addressed backlash over her tour and headline-making space trip last month.
On April 14, Perry was part of an all-female flight on Jeff Bezos’ Blue Origin rocket.

Perry described the online backlash as being treated like a “human Piñata”.
“Please know I am OK, I have done a lot work around knowing who I am, what is real and what is important to me,” the star said on Instagram.

She continued: “When the ‘online’ world tries to make me a human Piñata, I take it with grace and send them love, cause I know so many people are hurting in so many ways and the internet is very much so a dumping ground for unhinged and unhealed.”
The California Gurls singer kicked off her Lifetimes tour in April in Mexico.

Perry is set to come to Australia in a matter of weeks for shows across the country in June – her first tour Down Under in seven years.
She was last in Melbourne in September to perform at the 2024 AFL Grand Final.
During her Aussie trip, Perry stopped by the Sea Life Melbourne Aquarium to meet the viral king penguin chick, Pesto.
