Last November, Richard Gere and his wife Alejandra Silva left the United States for a new life in Spain and the duo say they have never been happier.
The Pretty Woman actor, 75, and the publicist, 41 – who recently moved from Connecticut USA to Madrid, Spain – gushed about their new life in Europe in a joint interview with Elle Espana.
“The truth is that you are seeing us in our momentum. We are happier than ever,” Gere said, translated from Spanish.

The American Gigolo star insisted that this happiness is directly correlated with their move to Spain.
“She, because she is at home and I because, if she is happy, I am happy,” the actor continued.
The couple first met in Italy in 2014 while they were both going through divorce proceedings.
Gere was separating from his second wife, actress Carey Lowell while Silva was in divorce proceeding with her ex-husband Govind Friedland.

Four years later the couple tied the knot in April 2018 at Gere’s ranch just outside of New York City.
“We are like soulmates,” Silva said about her relationship with Gere.

“We have the same values, we see the world in the same way and from the first moment we feel that we have known each other for a long time. And this only happens once, if it happens if it happens at all.”
“We were united by the karma of our past lives,” Silva added.
The couple share their two sons Alexander, five, and James, four.
Gere also has son Homer, 24, from his pervious marriage to Carey Lowell and Silva share’s an 11-year-old son with her ex-husband.
In the interview, Silva shared what their family life together looks like now they have relocated to her home country.

“Richard is a very dedicated and present father. He loves reading them [their children] stories. It seems like an idyllic photo, but it’s true. He’s a great dad,” she said.
Silva also touched on how they share some of the household duties.
“He doesn’t cook. I do it, but when I cook, he plays the guitar,” she confessed.
