Heartwarming reason Travis Kelce wanted to be at Taylor Swift’s Eras Tour shows: ‘Being there for her’

Travis Kelce and Taylor Swift are each other’s number one cheerleaders.

The power couple have been at each other’s many NFL games and sold-out stadium shows since going public with their romance in September 2023.

Now, in a new interview, Kelce has opened up about why it was important for him to be there supporting Swift in person at her record-breaking Eras Tour.

During an appearance on the The Stephen A. Smith Show Kansas City Chiefs star was asked about his mentality in both his personal and professional life.

“I think personally, that’s the beauty of being in a very strong relationship is that you get that support to be able to come in and focus on your craft, focus on being the best version of you,” he told host Stephen Smith.

“That’s why I wanted to be at the concerts, supporting her and being there for her, making sure she feels comfortable and supported in everything she’s doing in life.”

Kelce attended 15 of Swift’s Eras Tour shows all up, including the first night of her Sydney stop in February 2024.

It became a tradition for the singer to change the lyrics of her song Karma to “karma is the guy on the Chiefs” whenever Kelce was in attendance at her concerts.

Not only did Kelce support Swift from the VIP tent, he was joined her on stage for a special cameo at her third London show at Wembley Stadium in June 2024.

Speaking about his career, Kelce said he is “as focused as I’ve ever been on my job and being the best player that I could possibly be week in and week out for this team.”

He explained that was “because I don’t have to worry about things off the field.”

Earlier in the interview, Kelce said he was “enjoying all aspects of life”.

“I wanted to be at the concerts, supporting her and being there for her, making sure she feels comfortable and supported”

The NFL star added he and Swift were “happy”. 

“I couldn’t be happier to have that confidence and that comfort off the field and all the support I could ever ask for in the stadium.”

Just as Kelce has supported her at concerts, Swift has attended many of her boyfriend’s NFL games, including cheering him on to victory at the 2024 Super Bowl.

The pop star’s last NFL appearance was at the Chiefs game on December 21, 2024.
