That’s right, Affleck still found a way to get Lopez a present she would appreciate even though the two aren’t romantically involved anymore. Talk about keeping the divorce as amicable as possible.
Then again, if there’s something Affleck and Jennifer Lopez know how to do, is break up. They, after all, have done it once before. The two, after all, originally began dating in 2002 after meeting on the set of the movie Gigli. Their romance caused something of a revolution in those days, being dubbed Bennifer. They got engaged for the first time in November of 2022, before ending their high-profile relationship in January 2004.

Lopez would go on to marry Marc Anthony and Affleck would go on to do the same with Jennifer Garner. Lopez has two children with Anthony, while Affleck has three with Garner. In 2021, Affleck and Lopez rekindled their romance and got engaged for a second time in April of 2022, getting married in July 2022. However, Lopez filed for divorce from Affleck in August, on the second anniversary of their wedding ceremony they held after their elopement.

The estranged couple met up ahead of the holiday at the member-only Soho House, where they exchanged presents not only for each other but for each other’s kids. According to Page Six, Affleck “purchased an autographed Marlon Brando book” for Lopez.
“Ben gifted Jennifer with the book because she’s a fan, plus her Super Bowl bodysuit was inspired by Marlon Brando,” a source told the outlet. “The gifts were mostly for each other’s kids, but they did exchange a few small things for each other as well,” the insider added.

Affleck and Lopez have been a steady presence in the lives of each other’s kids in the last few years, so it makes sense that they would make the effort for Affleck’s three kids: Violet, 19, Seraphina, 15, and Samuel, 12 and Lopez’s two kids:16-year-old twins Max and Emme.
“It was nothing over the top, but more so a gesture to celebrate the holidays. Ben and Jennifer have remained amicable despite the ongoing divorce proceedings,” the source added. “Ben and Jennifer are still connected, and they do communicate when it involves their kids.”
Looks like both Affleck and Lopez are trying their best to keep some sort of family unit despite the divorce, which is pretty commendable. We’re in 2024, after all. Families don’t look like they used to before. And, why would they? Despite that, though we can admit that things are sometimes complicated. Adult feelings can get in the way of things. But a good Christmas gift can be a fine gesture of goodwill for the year ahead.
