It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas, and if you’re anything like me—you’re mentally preparing outfits to slay the holiday season. Picking out a look for Christmas, Hanukkah, Kwanzaa, New Year’s Eve (and everything in between) can be a daunting task. Are you going to a glitzy bash and need something sparkly or are you meeting your partner’s family and want something a bit demure? There are lots of options to sift through, which is why we tapped celebrity stylist Maeve Riley to break it all down.

Riley—a.k.a. the brains behind the red carpet looks of Eva Longoria, La La Anthony, and Coco Jones—curated a holiday edit for Express, which includes festive and celebratory pieces under $100. We’re talking bow-adorned sweaters, lace bodysuits, and satin skirts. “We aimed to capture the essence of fall and the holiday season in this collection while offering timeless pieces designed to be worn for years to come,” Riley tells StyleCaster. “When considering this edit, think of bold, street style-inspired pieces that are both elevated and casual.” Riley’s favorite pieces from the capsule are the Faux Suede Sherpa Moto Jacket and the Brushed Leopard Wool-Blend Coat. “I’m loving animal prints this year,” Riley says of the look, which saw a major resurgence this year thanks to the “mob wife” aesthetic, a gravitation towards maximalism, and collections from Roberto Cavalli, Dior, and Alexander McQueen.

As we prepare to open gifts, kiss under the mistletoe, and eat our hearts out, the holiday season serves as a time to reflect and prepare ourselves for what’s to come—and by what’s to come, I mean our 2025 wardrobes. If you’re looking to revamp or refresh your closet, Riley tells us that “everyone should have a good pair of jeans” and to “start with what you have.”

“The easiest way to revamp your wardrobe is by going through your closet and identifying pieces you love,” she says. “When shopping, invest in high quality, key basics that can be mixed and matched with everything—like a boyfriend blazer or boyfriend shirt.” She adds whatever you do, just don’t bring skinny jeans into the new year.
