The White House has a reputation for having extravagant holiday decorations, and this year will be no different! As part of the annual tradition, the official 2024 White House ornament will pay tribute to former President Jimmy Carter, who recently celebrated his 100th birthday.

The exclusive decor was unveiled on the ‘Today’ show and features a solid brass design shaped like an anchor, which is a nod to Carter’s military background. According to host Craig Melvin, the ornament includes a dove to symbolize Carter’s role as a peacemaker and represents his Georgian roots.

“All things that define Jimmy Carter, they’ve incorporated those things into the ornament,” Melvin said.

Additionally, the White House also gave a sneak peek into its holiday transformation. Last Saturday, the official Instagram account posted a reel, showing off the annual holiday decorations. In the video, sounds of ‘Carol of the Bells’ played in the background while before-and-after shots of multiple spaces around the house was shown. The clip highlighted eye-catching Christmas trees, garlands, lights, and even a horse-drawn sleigh.

On another note, as Donald Trump prepares to return to the White House, all eyes are on Melania Trump and her 2025 holiday decorations. As she is slated to take charge of the decor for next year, fans are having mixed reactions following her 2018 setup. But her friend and former ambassador Robin Bernstein has recently defended Melania’s aesthetic, calling it “exquisite.”

“She will make the White House beautiful and magical,” Bernstein said in an interview. “You can take one look at Melania and see how meticulous she is in appearance. She agrees that Christmas is a magical time of the year, and she definitely gets into it, and will continue to get into it. She has magical style herself and that will translate to the White House decorating.”

Nonetheless, the 2024 ornament is priced at $24.95 and displayed in the White House’s diplomatic reception room.
