Dorit Kemsley is letting the world know how she feels when it comes to Kyle Richards. Season 14 of The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills has been nothing short of explosive, with Dorit Kemsley and Kyle Richards at the center of the drama. In a recent After Show clip, the duo opened up about their heated confrontation in Episode 3, shedding light on their rocky friendship and Dorit’s response to Kyle Richards being upset Dorit not defending Teddi Mellencamp against a troll.
Dorit Kemsley didn’t hold back when addressing her feelings towards Kyle, stating that she was “pissed” and felt it was time to clear the air. “I’m not happy, and we’ve got sh-t to talk about,” Dorit said, revealing just how deep the frustration ran. On the other side, Kyle was ready to walk away from their friendship, explaining that their conversation felt like it was going nowhere. “Maybe it’s time to just walk away from this,” Kyle admitted, adding that while she could be patient with Dorit’s struggles, she no longer felt their relationship was worth saving.
“I can be patient to a certain degree because I know what she’s going through, and then I’m like, ‘You know what? Now you’re just another problem for me in my life I don’t need,’” Kyle shared, hinting that their personal issues were now spilling over into their friendship, making it harder to maintain.
Kyle felt that Dorit often struggled to take accountability for her actions, which had caused issues between them for a while. One example of this came up during a BravoCon 2023 panel when a fan made a negative comment about Teddi Mellencamp, and Dorit didn’t come to her defense. For Kyle, this was a clear sign that Dorit wasn’t stepping up when it mattered.
“I just wanted her to acknowledge something,” Kyle said, expressing how much it bothered her that Dorit didn’t take a stand. “That says a lot about her character, that she did not want to defend Teddi at all… We know that they’re friends.” For Kyle, it wasn’t just about this one incident—it was about a pattern she saw in their friendship that she couldn’t ignore.
However, Dorit had a different take. She felt like Kyle was “grasping at straws” by making such a big deal out of the moment. According to Dorit, their relationship had already reached a point of distance. “We had reached a point in our friendship where I was on the outside,” Dorit explained, referencing the time when Kyle had distanced herself from her. “How do you go from that to being totally isolated and then say that the reason is that I didn’t stick up for Teddi on a stage where I didn’t want to give any life to some troll?”
Despite the heated confrontation, it seems that Kyle and Dorit Kemsley aren’t completely giving up on their friendship—yet. Kyle still considers Dorit a close friend but admits that their recent issues have changed the dynamic. “I still consider her a close friend of mine,” Kyle stated, but noted, “You put yourself in that category of not being that close of a friend of mine by saying and doing those things.”
Dorit, however, remains firm in her stance, pointing out that Kyle has a pattern of turning things around in their conflicts. “She’s got a way of turning things around,” Dorit said. “She’ll either get very aggressive or she’ll play the victim. And I think she just thought one of those is going to get me to back down, sweep it under the rug, move on…” But Dorit made it clear that her feelings are valid, and until Kyle acknowledges that, their friendship can’t move forward. “I have these feelings. They’re very real. And until you recognize that they’re real, we’re not going anywhere.”
