Some lucky Londoners have been treated to a surprise performance from The Wizard himself.

Commuters at St Pancras International train station were shocked to see Jeff Goldblum appear amongst the crowds, chatting with fans before putting on an impromptu performance.

To celebrate the release of his newest film Wicked – in which he stars as The Wizard of Oz – the legendary actor gave a sweet Christmas performance on the piano.

Goldblum bopped along as he played the keys, with fans lining the barrier watching along, erupting in cheers and applause when hit ended.

The Wicked star also stopped to chat with Sky News about his deep love for London.

”I fell in love with England [and] London, I’ve done a lot of movies here that I won’t bore you with naming,” he said.

“I’ve done plays here in your beautiful theatres, and I’ve read all of Wodehouse. I’m just crazy about it… the people are so brilliant and smart, talented and sensitive and delightful and warm, and welcoming.”

Goldblum has just wrapped up the global Wicked press tour, which kicked off with the world premiere right here in Sydney.

Ethan Slater, who stars as Munchkin Boq in the film, told 9honey Celebrity at the premiere that he and the cast, including Goldblum, “bonded over time” while working together during the production.

“Everybody’s incredibly talented,” the actor, who is currently dating co-star Ariana Grande, said.

“I do think the theatre kid in all of us was a really helpful bonding thing.

“Cynthia, Ariana, you know, Marissa [Bode] loves doing theatre. Johnny [Jonathan Bailey] obviously does theatre. Jeff [Goldblum] loves it. Everybody is, like, you know, theatre kids at heart,” he explained.

“So I think we bonded over time, which is really nice.

“I think the best part about it is that not only was everyone really kind and warm and welcoming, everybody’s incredibly talented,” he added. “And so you feel really safe doing scenes with everyone.”
