Comedian Jack Whitehall had quite the awkward run-in with Lewis Hamilton during the grid walk at Silverstone just moments before the start of the British Grand Prix.
Whitehall, 36, was one of many celebrities attending the star-studded race on Sunday and found himself in the middle of the chaos as drivers made their final preparations.
But his attempt to mingle with the drivers didn’t end well, resulting in him bumping directly into the seven-time world champion before hanging his head in embarrassment.

Ever the comic, Whitehall made light of the hilarious situation and posted the moment on his Instagram page.
Just after the bump happened, a staff member appeared to tell Whitehall off as Hamilton walked ahead, with the comedian giggling over what happened.
“Oops. Think I might be getting a penalty for accidentally taking out the Ferrari before the race. Sorry Lewis 😩😬 #silverstone,” Whitehall captioned the post.
Fans were hysterical over the clip, with one writing: “That has to be a life signature moment for Jack 🤣 and perhaps only he could’ve got away with it!”

“This has possibly made my entire week 😂,” another wrote, while a third added: “10 second penalty for Whitehall 🙄.”
Hamilton brushed off the grid walk fiasco and ended up finishing fourth, while Lando Norris was victorious for the first time on home soil.
Whitehall and Hamilton have met before during an appearance on British chat show The Graham Norton Show, making cheeky jibes at one another as they spoke on the couch.
After Whitehall revealed he didn’t have a driver’s license, Hamilton laughed in disbelief: “How does a man not have a driver’s license? Do you get the bus, what do you do?”

“Lewis, I get picked up. By the chicks… the chicks being my mother,” Whitehall replied.
