David Beckham’s candid post about Father’s Day appears to send a clear message to son Brooklyn

Jun 15, 2025

David Beckham appears to have dispelled rumours of a growing family feud in a post for Father’s Day in the UK and US.

In recent months, it seems there’s been a rift growing between the family and eldest son Brooklyn, which intensified after he missed his dad’s 50th birthday celebrations.

While the 26-year-old hasn’t made mention to the day, David made a reference to the elephant in the room in a very candid post.

David Beckham shares an old photo with son Brooklyn Beckham for Father's Day

In one photo on his Instagram Stories, David and Brooklyn laughed while having a wine, he wrote ‘love you’ and tagged his eldest son.

Alongside another post which included a series of family snaps of his kids throughout their childhood and now, the proud dad apologised for the name he forces them to call him and reminded them that he will always be there.

“My most important & favourite job in life is being a dad… I’m so proud of all of you and like daddy (sorry boys) tells you every single day I will always be here for you no matter what…” he wrote.

“Mummy thank you for doing the most important part and making me a father there is no greater gift in life than making me a dad… Happy Father’s Day… I love you kiddies more than you could imagine.”

David finished the post by tagging his boys, adding a hashtag for their daughter Harper, who is not on social media, and tagged his own dad too.

Victoria also shared a series of snaps and family videos in her own tribute to David for Father’s Day.

“Happy Father’s Day to the best daddy there is! You always lead with love and our four beautiful children are a reflection of that. We all love you so so much!!” she captioned the post

The apparent olive branch from the famous couple came after Brooklyn stayed quiet on his dad receiving a knighthood over the weekend

The long-awaited title was something that the rest of the family celebrated, with Romeo, 22, and Cruz, 20 – celebrating the milestone via their respective Instagram Stories.

Victoria shared her own post for her husband on the special honour.

“You’ve always been my knight in shining armour, but now it’s official. Sir @davidbeckham!!! What an honour, I couldn’t be prouder of you,” she wrote.

“Your dedication to the things that matter most — your country, your work, your passion, and most of all, your family — has never wavered. The way you’ve touched so many lives over the years with kindness and humility speaks volumes about the man you are and continues to inspire us everyday. But above all else, I’m so, so proud to call you mine. I love you so much xxxx”.

David replied, “I love you all ❤️ @victoriabeckham @brooklynpeltzbeckham @romeobeckham @cruzbeckham #HarperSeven ❤️.”

The comment from David fuelled speculation that he and Victoria were trying to mend the rumoured rift with Brooklyn.

Speculation of a feud reignited when Brooklyn and his wife Nicola Peltz skipped David’s 50th birthday celebrations in May.

In the weeks since, telling social media comments have further added to the tensions with the family, but the silence on David’s knighthood has been the biggest indicator so far that things are not going well.
