Chris Robinson, star of General Hospital and The Bold and the Beautiful, has died aged 86.
Robinson reportedly died of heart failure after a period of ill health.
The actor’s death has been announced by friend and colleague, director MJ Allen. The duo most recently worked together on the 2022 movie Just for a Week.

“Jacquie (Chris’ wife) just called me a bit ago and informed me that my good friend and collaborator Hollywood legend Chris Robinson has passed away,” he wrote on Facebook.
“We knew this was coming, but it always sucks,” Allen said.

“We just had lunch a few weeks ago, but he was in bad shape,” Allen shared.
“I directed and acted with him in 3 of my own films. We spent a few holidays together, staying out at his ranch having buffets by the creek, and him and Jacquie coming to my house to discuss projects were always a treat. Good times.”
The director then said: “RIP, good friend and legend. Respect to Jacquie and the fam.”
The post explained Robinson “peacefully passed in his sleep at his ranch near Sedona, Arizona at 12.30am on June 9”.
The official General Hospital X account shared the sad news.
“General Hospital’s enduring legacy owes a debt of gratitude to Chris Robinson and his portrayal of Dr Rick Webber,” the post read.

Robinson’s career had included more than 100 roles in TV and films from 1957 until 2022.
He is best known for playing Dr Rick Webber on ABC daytime soap General Hospital and is credited with launching the careers of John Stamos, Rick Springfield and Richard Dean Anderson.
Robinson also poked fun at his role in a series of ads for Vicks, famously saying: “I’m not a doctor, but I play one on TV”.

Robinson starred on The Bold and the Beautiful playing Jack Hamilton from 1992 until 2005.
Other TV roles included The Fugitive, Hogan’s Heroes, Fantasy Island, Murder She Wrote and Another World.

He is survived by his wife of fourteen years, artist Jacquie Shane-Robinson “who also acted alongside him in all three of his last films” and his sons Shane, Coby, Christian, Taylor, Christopher Robinson, Christopher Lance, and adopted son Robb Walker.
He had five grandchildren, Ivy, Ava, Davey, Brooks and Knox.
