Miley Cyrus has revealed her secret health battle – suffering from an ovarian cyst rupture while working.
The American singer, 32, and ex-wife of Aussie actor Liam Hemsworth, said she was hosting a New Year’s Eve show when she “had a medical emergency,” calling it “pretty traumatic”.
According to the Mayo Clinic, “Ovarian cysts are sacs, usually filled with fluid, in an ovary or on its surface.”

They added that cysts are “common” and cause symptoms like “pelvic pain”.
Speaking to Zane Lowe on The Zane Lowe Show, Cyrus said: “I had a pretty traumatic experience on a show that I was doing with [Lorne Michaels] when I was doing my New Year’s show.”
“I had a medical emergency. I had an ovarian cyst rupture. We didn’t know exactly what was going on so we did it.”

She added about the pain that she pushed through it, saying: “It was pretty traumatic because it was extremely excruciating and I did the show anyway. But it was really, really hard on me.”
It comes after Cyrus won her first Grammy at the awards show last year.
The Flowers singer also made headlines earlier this month for sharing a statement after her mother Tish Cyrus allegedly unfollowed her on social media where she addressed her relationship with both her parents.

”I rarely comment on rumours, but my mama and I are too tight for anything to ever come between us,” Miley said, calling the alleged unfollowing “coincidental and uninteresting” and implied she did it by accident.
She added about her famous father Billy Ray Cyrus: “My dad and I have had our challenges over the years.”
“Now, in my 30s, family is my priority above all else. I’m at peace knowing bridges have been built and time has done a lot of healing.”
“Grateful for the good health and love that flows through my family,” she added.
