Mick Jagger’s partner Melanie Hamrick has confirmed their engagement after more than 10 years together and a 44-year age gap.

The former ballerina, 37, shared the happy news in an interview with France’s Paris Match, per People.

Hamrick, who is also an author and shares son Deveraux Octavian Basil Jagger, eight, with The Rolling Stones rocker, 81, reportedly told the French publication the pair have been engaged for years.

“We’ve been engaged two or three years,” she said.

But whether they’ll actually marry is a different question.

“Maybe one day we’ll marry, maybe not. We are so happy in our current life that I would be too afraid to change anything,” she added.

Last year, Hamrick said she pays absolutely no attention to critics or naysayers about her relationship with the British rocker over their age-gap.

Speaking to The Times, she said: “I don’t think about it. Everyone’s going to have their opinion. If you think about others’ opinions, no matter where you are in life, you’re going to have a problem and you’re going to analyse it.”

She said people can “mind their own business” and insisted she’s “happy” with the iconic musician.

“Am I happy? Yes. Are the people in my life happy? Yes. Am I hurting anyone? No. Okay, they can mind their own business.”

The couple started dating back in 2014 after having met at a Rolling Stones concert.

The pair previously sparked engagement rumours. But Hamrick has reportedly called a ring she was seen wearing, a “promise ring”.

They share son Deveraux Octavian together. Mick is a father to eight children in total from previous relationships.

Speaking about being a father at an older age, he told The Guardian: “You get a bit out of practice – it’s not like riding a bike.”

”The more children you have, the more laissez-faire you get about them, to be honest.”

He said fatherhood is “fun” and added: “But if you’re working, and always away, you don’t get to enjoy it quite as much.”
