His musician father is part of one of the most popular and iconic boybands of all time.
Brian Littrell is one of the founding members of ’90s band, the Backstreet Boys.
But it seems his son Baylee Littrell, 21, is determined to make a name for himself in his own right, this week shocking the superstar judges as he auditioned for American Idol.

A clip of the special moment was shared on the American Idol official Instagram page, with judge and Backstreet Boys fan Carrie Underwood remarking that Baylee looked “familiar” before finding out who he was.
“There’s something about you that looks familiar,” she said, before Baylee told the judges who his dad is.

“And you look like your dad!” she said, before a flashback photo of Underwood aired, showing her in her room with the Backstreet Boys poster hanging on her wall.
“Following in my dad’s footsteps is scary, because his career to me is one of the most extraordinary in music history and no one can ever compare,” Baylee said in a piece to camera.

“I’ve always told everybody he’s ten times more talented than I ever was,” his dad Brian said in the clip.
Baylee stunned the judges with his unique voice, singing with a guitar in hand.
Soon, his dad came out to sing the chorus with him.

After the successful audition, which Underwood said was “really good,” Brian congratulated his son in a separate post.
“Congrats @bayleelittrell_music on an incredible premiere with @americanidol. I am so proud of you Bubba – can’t wait to see you in #Hollywood!!” he wrote.

The singer, known for hits including I Want It That Way and Shape of My Heart with the Backstreet Boys, shares his son with wife Leighanne Littrell.
“We should be thankful every day and not need a holiday to do so……. Thankfulness is a state of mind. I am thankful and great full for my wife and son who always make me better….. 💕❤️👀,” he captioned one post gushing about his family.
