Grimes has opened up about her recent tweets to her ex-partner Elon Musk.
The singer and songwriter addressed Musk, who is currently the leader of the US Department of Government Efficiency, in a tweet after he addressed press from the White House’s Oval Office with their four-year-old son X Æ A-Xii by his side, expressing that he “should not be in public like this”.

In a new interview with TIME, Grimes commented on the sensation that surrounded her post. “It was like, ‘Grimes slams,’ ‘Grimes speaks out,'” she said. “It’s like, OK, it was a reply. But I would really like people to stop posting images of my kid everywhere.”
The star told the outlet she feels “fame is something you should consent to”.
“Obviously, things will just be what they are. But I would really, really appreciate that. I can only ask, so I’m just asking,” she added.

X Æ A-Xii’s appearance in the oval office alongside his father and the President of the United States Donald Trump received widespread attention.
“He should not be in public like this,” the 36-year-old singer, who was in an on-off relationship with Musk for four years until 2022, wrote
“I did not see this, thank u for alerting me. But I’m glad he was polite. Sigh.”

At the time, she was responding to another X user, who had written under one of her posts: “Lil [X Æ A-Xii] was very polite today! You raised him well. He was so cute when he told [Trump], ‘please forgive me, I need to pee.'”
Grimes and Musk separated in September 2021 after three years together.
The singer also shares Exa Dark Sideræl and Techno Mechanicus with Musk, who shares 12 children in total with three women.
