Yellowjackets stars tease new challenges, buried secrets, and intense drama in new season

Lynskey, who plays Shauna, shared her excitement for the new season, saying, “It’s so nerve wracking. I wish I could just be relaxed about it, but I’m just like, ‘Oh God, are people going to like it?'”

“I read all the reviews… every single one. I read everything. And also I care, like I really feel good about this season.”

Ricci, who portrays Misty, spoke about the depth of darkness the characters will encounter in the new season.

“There were some storylines that I found really shocking and surprising,” she says.

“I thought they were really smart and cool, but, like, I would never have expected them. And there were a couple scenes and a couple of things that certain characters do that I didn’t really know that those characters had that capacity and that depth of darkness.”

The trailer also hints at the characters’ struggles to maintain their sanity and find a way to “be healthy”.

“I think it starts out [Shauna’s] kind of doing her best,” Lynskey says. 

“She’s like, ‘Oh, let me see if I can get my act together a little bit.’ She cannot. And then I think it just feels great to her when she’s absolutely feral. It’s her happiest place.

“She’s not really comfortable with domesticity. She’s not really comfortable being demure, mindful person. And she just can’t… it gets a bit crazy. The only way to truly be safe is to be the only one left.”
