Liv Tyler had incredible success in the nineties and early 2000s.
Some of her standout roles include 1998’s Armageddon, 1996’s That Thing You Do! and 1995’s Empire Records.
But one of her most iconic roles that still stands until this day was in the Lord of the Rings film franchise as the ethereal, immortal Elf-maiden Arwen, from the magical world of J.R.R. Tolkien.

Now, Tyler, 47, is returning to the big screen for Marvel’s Captain America: Brave New World, her first major role in five years since the 2020 TV series 9-1-1: Lone Star.
A quiet comeback
Tyler has appeared in a few films over the years, but none could match the phenomenal international success of Lord of the Rings.
Captain America: Brave New World could rival that, however, being a Marvel film.
Speaking about her new role on the red carpet to Extra, she said she took a step back from acting for the sake of her family.

“I’ve taken a break from acting for the past few years, and I’ve been home with my children,” she explained.
“And it was just such a lovely way, after COVID and everything, to come back to something so special.”
“It was sort of a perfect way to lure me back into remembering how much I love acting.”
She added that she realised her children had “never seen her in a movie, ever” and said she was planning to take them to see her in her new film.
Family life
Tyler is a proud mum of three.
She shares Milo, 20, with ex-husband, British rocker Royston Langdon. The pair were married from 2003-2009.

She once described motherhood as “the best thing I’ve ever done in my life” to Elle Mexico.
In 2021, the actress shared a picture with children for Mother’s Day.

“Night night UK Momma’s. Happy happy Mother’s Day, today and everyday 💗 what a blessing,” she wrote.
“Never been so tired 😂🙈🥰 completely content. I love you beyond Milo, Sailor and Lula Rose.”
It’s believed her and her children lived between London and New York in recent years.
Rock royalty
Tyler, of course, is the daughter of Aerosmith rocker and American musician Steven Tyler, 76, and former model Beverle Lorence “Bebe” Buell.
The actress explained that she once met Steve backstage at one of his shows, although for years didn’t know he was her actual father.
She soon worked it out after meeting her half-sister Mia Tyler, telling The Guardian: ”It was a moment that was bigger than me, it was almost spiritual.”
“When you meet kin, there is an energy and sparkle between your bodies. It must be chemical somehow – DNA and genes.
“I felt a connection in a very strong way when I met him as a little girl and I didn’t know why at first, but I figured it out rather quickly.”
