This gon’ make you lose your mind.
The voice and face behind one of the biggest pop culture moments of the early 2010s is pursuing an entirely new passion these days.
Redfoo, who was one half of the pop-EDM duo LMFAO, who released the smash hits like Party Rock Anthem, Sexy and I Know It and Shots and inspired the shuffling dance trend that had a chokehold on the party scene for years, has swapped out the mic for a tennis racquet.

Redfoo, whose real name is Stefan Gordy, has today made his main draw debut at a world tennis tournament in Egypt after getting in on a wild card.
He competed against Norway’s Leyton Rivera at the ITF 15,000 in Sharm El Sheik but was defeated.
Recently, he also lost a qualifying match against Slovakian Dusan Baranec.
Despite the knock of two back-to-back losses, Redfoo is remaining positive.

“I lost the match but this was my best point,” he wrote alongside a video from the day.
Recently, Redfoo shared a screenshot of the ITF fixtures on Instagram to announce he had received a wild card to take to the court for the main draw event.
“Going for it,” he captioned the post.
Other athletes and the official ITF Instagram account shared their support for the musician-turned-tennis-player in the comment section.

Many may be surprised by the music star’s switch from party rockin’ to the tennis court but it happens he has always had a big love for the sport.
Redfoo’s love for tennis
Redfoo has been actively engaged in the world of tennis for a long time.
More than a decade ago, he played in the first round of the US Open National Playoffs in Salinas, California. Despite losing that match to Scott Gray, he remained positive.
“I say it’s a success for me because the journey was so great, and I actually felt good out there,” the 37-year-old Redfoo told The Californian, per tennis.com.
“The guy kicked my butt in the score, and he played great.”
By 2016, Redfoo made his professional debut playing and losing a single round against Spanish tennis player Fernando Bogajo.
Almost nine years later, the star has returned to the professional circuit with his appearance at the Egyptian tournament.
Outside of his brief forays into the professional circuit, Redfoo has also been spotted in the crowds of several tennis tournaments, playing friendly matches and regularly posts about his love for the sport on Instagram.

A tennis love affair
Redfoo’s love for the sport was likely strengthened after dating former world no. 1 tennis star Victoria Azarenka.
The two first started dating in 2012 and Redfoo travelled the world with her as she competed on the international tennis circuit. Azarenka also appeared in the music video for his hit single Let’s Get Ridiculous.
Two years later the duo called time on their relationship, with Redfoo telling Who Magazine he wasn’t able to juggle his career and the relationship at the same time.

“I want to cryogenically freeze the love, put it in a lab, and come back to it when everything is organised and I can appoint another captain of the ship,’ he said, per the Daily Mail.
“We both had strong careers and we both want to support each other – It was tough. I found myself oftentimes thinking more about their career.”
What is Redfoo known for?
Redfoo is best known for his involvement in the EDM group LMFAO.
He is the son of Berry Gordy, the founder of the Motown record label, and formed the music group with his half-nephew Sky Blu (Skyler Gordy) in 2006.
Their early releases including I’m In Miami B–ch and Shots made the Billboard Hot 100 chart. But they are best known for their 2011 single Party Rock Anthem, which became a hit in clubs worldwide.

In 2012, they even performed at the Super Bowl half time show with Madonna but later that year the band announced they were going on hiatus and never got back together.
“I feel like we’ve been doing this for so long, five or six years,” Redfoo said in a statement per Billboard.
“And we’re kind of like saying, well, let’s just do what’s natural and just kind of explore that, instead of like forcing it all the time.”
The duo went on to pursue solo music careers.
