Get ready, parents! The beloved animated series Bluey is making its way to the big screen. After captivating young audiences for years with its heartwarming stories and charming characters, Bluey is set to expand its universe with a feature film. This exciting news has fans of the show buzzing with anticipation, as they look forward to seeing Bluey, Bingo, and the rest of the Heeler family on a grander scale.

“Since its debut on Disney Jr. and Disney+, Bluey has become a global phenomenon, uniting families everywhere with its heartfelt stories of play, imagination, and connection,” Disney Entertainment co-chairmen, Alan Bergman and Dana Walden said via a recent press release.

The statement continued, “We are so proud to expand upon our relationship with BBC Studios to bring the magic of Bluey to the big screen–for real life!–and we are deeply grateful to Joe Brumm for creating a world that continues to inspire and delight families everywhere.”

If you are perhaps unfamiliar with Australian animated series, Bluey, per the official website’s description of the show, Bluey “… follows the adventures of a lovable & inexhaustible six-year-old puppy, who along with her sister Bingo, parents and friends is learning all about the world.”

The Disney Jr./Disney Plus series has enchanted both children and adults alike breaking down life-lessons for children. No topic is off-limits for this amazing show that has been around since October 2018. Bluey was created by Joe Brumm. According to Parents.com, Bluey, the Emmy® and BAFTA Award-winning animated series, is the number one streaming series in 2024 in the U.S., with over 50.5 billion minutes watched in more than 140 countries.

Tom Fussell, CEO of BBC Studios, said that a feature-length film for Bluey was “the natural next step.” He added, “We are pleased to work with Disney on Bluey’s eagerly awaited theatrical debut and look forward to partnering with Dana, Alan, and the entire team on this momentous journey.”

With its combination of humor, family-friendly values, and unforgettable adventures, Bluey is sure to be a hit both with longtime fans and newcomers alike. Blue is set to hit the big screen in 2027!
