According to TMZ, Corley formally filed for divorce. Although the couple announced their split back in April of this year, the legal divorce filing comes just months after the couple’s fifth wedding anniversary.

The decision for the couple to go their separate ways was initiated when Chance the Rapper, whose real name is Chancelor Bennett, was seen in a viral video at Jamaica’s Carnival, dancing with a woman, other than his wife, and smacking her butt.

At the time, the couple share a joint Instagram post in their stories that read: “After a period of separation, the two of us have arrived at the decision to part ways. We came to this decision amicably and with gratitude for the time we spent together. God has blessed us with two beautiful daughters who we will continue to raise together. We kindly ask for privacy and respect as we navigate this transition. Thank you.”

However, rumors of trouble between the couple first swirled around in 2020 when Corley, shared a now deleted Instagram post, where she described marriage as “difficult”.

“I hope you see two imperfect human beings who are doing their best to cultivate a home rooted in Love & Grace. Marriage is difficult,” the 31-year-old captioned the post at the time, with an accompanying image of the couple and their daughters.

The post concluded, “It would be irresponsible to say otherwise, or give ya’ll the impression that it’s a walk in the park. It forces you to confront A LOT of parts of yourself you didn’t know were there.. especially in this season of being home way more than we’re used to lol but I believe it is worth it, when you both commit to doing the inner work. A reminder to stand in gratitude, for the family we have created. flaws & all.”

Bennett and Corley share two daughters: nine-year-old, Kensli and five-year-old Marli.
