Marchbank played for Carlton and Greater Western Sydney in the AFL but was delisted at the end of the 2024 season.
“David [Cuningham] and Caleb have persevered through adversity throughout their extended careers at Carlton,” Carlton’s Nick Austin said, Fox Sports reported at the time.

Austin added: “Their resolve to continue to front up and give themselves every chance to overcome each challenge is a testament to them and will hold them in good stead with whatever the step is that they choose to take.”
Mentioning the other players who were delisted at the time, Austin added: “We thank all five players for their commitment during their time in Navy Blue.”
Marchbank unfortunately suffered a serious knee and neck injury during his time on the field. The neck injury ruled him out of the game at a professional level from 2019 until his return in 2022.
