It’s easy to fall prey to teeth whitening products with hefty claims—who doesn’t want to eliminate yellow tones and get a professional-worthy transformation from the comfort of their own home? I’ve tried many of these formulations, from toothpastes and strips to teeth whitening trays, and while some have shown promising results, others flat out failed to meet expectations.

But that doesn’t mean I won’t keep trying the latest releases, especially since many roll out new features that are intriguing. Take Burst’s Teeth Whitening Breath Strips—I had never caught wind of the brand before, but the idea behind this new product was enough to reel me in and put them to the test.

What Are Burst’s Teeth Whitening Breath Strips?

These whitening breath strips have two main benefits: to instantly eliminate bad breath and whiten teeth by up to four shades. The two-in-one solution was “researched and endorsed by over 40,000 dental professionals,” according to the brand’s site. They contain a mix of hydrogen peroxide and trisodium pentaphosphate (a stain remover) to get rid of stains across your teeth and whiten enamel in a safe and effective way.

Each pack comes with 12 strips, which for $7 is a pretty good deal.

My Testing Process

As someone with sensitive teeth, I do approach new whitening products with a little bit of hesitation. That said, I didn’t notice any odd sensations during my first application. If anything, the process was pretty easy—the strips dissolve within a few minutes, leaving behind a minty fresh flavor in your mouth that reminded me exactly of Listerine breath strips.

Despite being quite a thin, delicate strip, they stayed in place decently well and didn’t shift around, which is something I’ve noticed with other whitening strips I’ve tried.

My Honest Thoughts

Did I immediately notice vast improvements after my first set dissolved? Not exactly. But that wasn’t super surprising. Many whitening products take consistent applications to provide results, and the more I’ve used them, the more I’ve seen some changes taking place. Did I have the yellowest teeth to begin with? No. These strips might offer more contrasting results on those that do, though.

I will say, I like the long-term benefits these strips claim to provide, like the ability to minimize bad breath-causing bacteria in your mouth (they supposedly kill 93 percent of bad breath germs). I also appreciate that they are made vegan, cruelty-free and without parabens, phthalates, SLS, or artificial colors and flavors.

Plus, the price on these is pretty stellar. Considering options like Crest Whitening Strips will run you closer to $50 for 22 strips, Burst is offering a pretty accessible option for those on a budget. And, if you’re an avid Amazon shopper, the brand does offer its whitening only alternative of the strips there.
