While re-watching Gossip Girl recently, I was inspired to plan a trip to NYC. It really is the star of this show – and many others. That got me thinking… what are the best New York filming locations featured on the series?

Here are my favorite Gossip Girl filming locations!

The Steps of The Met

This locations really set the tone for the first couple of seasons on the show. The scenes at the steps of the Metropolitan Museum illustrated the hierarchy of the wealthy high schoolers. The inside of the museum makes an appearance later on in the series.

Museum of the City of New York

The outside of the Museum of the City of New York is used as the entrance to both the Constance Billard School for girls and St. Jude School for boys. It’s located on the Upper East Side on 5th Avenue, about one mile away from The Met.

Grand Central Terminal

While the steps of the Met are probably the most important location on the list, Grand Central Terminal is my favorite. It’s simply stunning and is a must see on a trip to NYC.

The Campbell Apartment

The bar where Serena and Nate had their tryst is located in Grand Central Terminal. The space was once the private office and reception hall of Jazz Age financier John W. Campbell, hence the name. It is a gorgeous space and a great place to grab a martini and listen to some jazz.

Empire Hotel

The Empire Hotel becomes a landmark of the series in season three when Chuck invests in the hotel. It is an actual hotel located near the Lincoln Center. You’ll recognize the lobby from many scenes on the series, but it’s the rooftop you’ll most remember due to it’s giant sign. Be sure to grab a drink while you’re up there. They do, indeed, have one themed for Gossip Girl.

Lotte New York Palace

The Palace is where Serena and Chuck both lived in the early seasons of the series. Located on Madison Avenue, the courtyard is a great place to snap pictures, unless your visit happens to coincide with construction as it did during my last trip to the city.

Veselka

The old Ukrainian restaurant Veselka is one of Dan’s favorite spots for pierogis and I’m here to tell you it is worth a visit! The pierogis are delicious! Plus, who doesn’t want to visit the spot where Blair and Prince Louis went on their undercover date?

Bethesda Fountain in Central Park

And finally, we can’t forget about the Bethesda Fountain in Central Park. While many scenes took place in the park over the years, none is more pivotal than the scene in the series finale when Chuck and Blair tie the knot.
