Dua Lipa did something twice in quick succession, and now I must blog about it. You don’t need to guess because of course, I know you read the headline. She wore two different leather trench coats in a row, and now there is no choice but to at least WONDER if you need to get one too.
The first one she wore was a stunning snake skin trench that looks so posh and kind of edgy. The second one was a rich floor-length dark green emerald one that looks so elegant and bougie.
Of course, leather trench coats are hardly a trend, and Dua Lipa is certainly not the only celeb wearing a trench recently. Emily Ratajkowski, Kim Kardashian, and Anya Taylor-Joy all come to mind immediately, but surely it’s almost like asking which celebs wear black jeans. Probably a lot of them. They’ve been around forever, and if there was a resurgence, I would say it happened before the pandemic because I was watching a lot of K-Dramas at the time, and they were stocked up in the wardrobe departments, I’ll tell you that much.
The fun thing about leather trenches is that they also fit a variety of styles and vibes. They can easily be preppy or sporty or edgy or quirky. So it’s like a pair of blue jeans in that it’s a piece, if you were to invest in a really nice 100% leather one, you’d probably have it in your closet for a lifetime of various epochs and personalities and vibe shifts you may live through. And that, girls, is the true meaning of timelessness.
