Mariah Carey had a moment to remember during her recent Christmas Time Tour. While performing her iconic holiday anthem All I Want for Christmas Is You in Raleigh, North Carolina, the singer found out the song had once again topped the Billboard Hot 100.
Making the night even sweeter, Mariah’s kids, 12-year-old twins Monroe and Moroccan, surprised her on stage to celebrate the big news.
The 55-year-old took to Instagram, posting a video of the magical moment.
“Last night on stage in Raleigh, North Carolina, I found out that All I Want For Christmas Is You returned to #1 on the Billboard Hot 100,” she began her caption.
“I couldn’t have dreamed of a better time or place to celebrate the news than on stage with my amazing fans, my kids and my #Christmastime tour family. I love you and am so grateful to you all,” Carey concluded the caption followed by three red hearts and simply, the letter “M”.
“All I Want for Christmas Is You” appeared on Carey’s first holiday album, “Merry Christmas” 30 years ago, in 1994. To mark this special occasion, the singer has released a special deluxe edition of the music for fans.
The queen of Christmas recently shared the exciting news in a video post on social media.
Carey captioned the video, “The deluxe limited edition of Merry Christmas is really special, I hope you enjoy it!”
The news of this exciting milestone for Carey couldn’t have come at a better time. She is in the middle of her Christmas Time tour, and it was as if this historic moment was truly a holiday gift.
Back in April, Carey told People Magazine in an exclusive interview that, “I’ve been working day and night on [preparing for the tour]. I worked with some incredible people on this, like Miss Debbie Allen. I’ll be doing songs I’ve never done before, some duets.”
Congratulations, Mariah! We know that we will have “All I Want For Christmas Is You” on repeat until January 1!
