The 55-year-old presenter has explained why she has been absent from ‘Good Morning America’ this week, detailing that she had had two operations for different issues with each of her feet.

While the operation on her right foot was more straightforward as it was to remove a plate from a previous surgery to treat a torn plantar plate and ligament, the other was a “bigger deal” and stemmed from a decades-old injury.

Sharing a selfie with her surgeon, Dr. Martin O’Malley, and a photo of her bandaged feet, Lara explained on Instagram: “If I look a little groggy it’s thanks to this guy who just gave me a new pair of boots (frame 2-wish they were cowboy boots but that will come in about 6 weeks hopefully).

“My right foot was easy-just had plate removed from surgery last year.

“The left is a bigger deal from a very old college diving injury. I was doing a reverse one and a half and hit the board, shattering toes and joints.

“Back then they said there was nothing you could do except tape it, let it heal, and live with the pain.

“Today there are much better options, thanks to surgeons like Dr Marty O’Malley at HSS. These boots were made for walkin……(sic)”

The ‘Flea Market Flip’ creator – who was a diver during her college days at Pennsylvania State University – didn’t tell fans when they can expect to see her on screen again.

A number of Lara’s colleagues and friends offered her support in the comments section of the post.

Dr. Jennifer Ashton, the former medical chief on ‘GMA’, wrote: “Jesus!!! Who does both feet at the same time???? My girl, that’s who! So tough!

“Sending u speedy love to fast recovery! We’ve got dancing to do.”

And ’20/20′ co-anchor Deborah Roberts posted: “Wow! Well no doubt you’ll be twirling in no time!”

‘Good Morning America’s business, economics and technology correspondent Rebecca Jarvis wrote: “Sweetie!! Feel better soon.”
