Gabrielle Union, Zaya Wade, and Dwyane Wade arrived in style to the 2024 Out100 Celebration at NeueHouse Hollywood on December 11, 2024.
The star-studded event honored influential members of the LGBTQIA+ community, including “Wicked” star Cynthia Erivo and “Abbott Elementary” Emmy winner Sheryl Lee Ralph.
For the occasion, 17-year-old Zaya Wade, who was named one of Out100’s nominees, wore a Lena Jacket minidress that featured a bold faux fur animal print cuffs and a collar.
Meanwhile, Gabrielle Union looked chic in a Burberry checkered minidress, while Dwyane Wade rounded out the fashionable trio in a tailored look by Italian luxury brand Loro Piana.
The Wades have long been vocal advocates for Zaya, who publicly came out as transgender in 2020.
During a February 2020 appearance on The Ellen DeGeneres Show, Dwyane Wade reflected on the moment Zaya embraced her identity.
“Once Zion came home and said, ‘Call me Zaya,’ and ‘I’m ready to take on this,’ I looked at her and said, ‘You are a leader. It’s our opportunity to allow you to be a voice,’” he said “Right now, it’s through us, because she’s 12 years old, but eventually, it will be through her.”
Later that year, Dwyane penned a heartfelt Instagram post expressing his unconditional love and admiration for Zaya.
“Unconditional love, simply put, is love without strings attached. It’s love you offer freely,” Wade wrote in an Instagram post with photos of her. “You don’t base it on what someone does for you in return. You simply love them and want nothing more than their happiness.”
“Waking up and watching you smile, watching you walk in your truth and live your life your way is one of the greatest gifts I’ve been able to experience in my life,” Wade continued.
