They were one of Hollywood’s most secretive couples. Jamie Foxx and Katie Holmes managed to keep their relationship very low-key in the 6 years they were together.

Despite numerous paparazzi photos of them together, Foxx and Holmes never confirmed their relationship. “Katie and Jamie live a very private lifestyle and intend to keep it that way,” a source told Us Weekly at the time. “They don’t plan on getting engaged anytime soon because they’re happy with how things are right now.” Right after they made their public debut as a couple at the 2019 Met Gala, the two broke up.

Why did Jamie Foxx & Katie Holmes break up?

The reason why Jamie Foxx and Katie Holmes broke up is because of differing lifestyles. “It has been many years of him stepping out with other women,” a source told Us Weekly. “He’s disrespectful and their lives were different. His partying ways don’t fit with hers as she’s focused on raising her daughter and working.”

“When they can spend time together, they do. When they’re busy and they can’t, they don’t. They are two adults who enjoy each other’s company and have for a long time,” the insider said. Another source revealed that Katie Holmes was overheard saying “What Jamie does is his business — we haven’t been together for months” to a pal in New York City shortly before the split was confirmed.

Despite the breakup, Katie Holmes was very concerned about Jamie Foxx’s medical emergency in 2024. A source told Radar Online, “She and Jamie didn’t end on the best of terms. But regardless, she is very concerned.” Though they lived separate lives, “Katie is desperate to find out more details but a lot of her calls to their mutual friends are going answered. No one knows what is going on.”

Jamie recently revealed that he experienced “a brain bleed that led to a stroke.” On April 11, 2023, he asked a friend for aspirin and he lost consciousness on the set of his movie. “I don’t remember 20 days,” he said in the special.
